oscar C Posted March 14, 2009 Author Posted March 14, 2009 apprenticeman...I have never seen that version before but it makes sense..gives me ideas Quote
saintjohnbarleycorn Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I wonder how it sounds also, does the split bell have some advantage over a round one? or is it just more practical to do it that way? Quote
oscar C Posted March 14, 2009 Author Posted March 14, 2009 saintjohn...works kind of like a tuning fork.after I form the cup in the bell I heat it up to yellow and quench it to put it under tension. that seem to help with the sound. Quote
Alwin Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 You may have seen this but here is a link to pictures of the making of a huge bell in the style that you've made yours-which I really like. Quote
beth Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 ive never paid bells a awful lot of attention but i am starting to - i love your bell oscar it looks like it has shoulders, and also apprentice man the bell you shown us looks like a person as well to me! like the sides are clothes! i love them both, never seen bells like that before so thanks for that! i reckon i might try and make a bell...
