  1. The rim is a welded one a bead right in the middle. The bolts are from the hub as i never unbolted it i just pulled the center bolt and removed the whole unit. The wheel is from an old 80's Yazoo 3 wheel rider and it just turns in a frame as it swviels to steer...Bob

  2. Thanks David. Here is another attachment i made a few weeks ago. I needed to break down my lawnmower wheel to add an inner tube and couldn't get the bead broke. So i made a small breaker that slips over my 1" tooling shaft. Worked great...Bob

  3. Well after using my press for a few years with the 6T jack i finally upgraded to a 12T. Just had to make some new attachment points for the bigger jack. Also made a rack to hold some of my quick change tooling...Bob

  4. "That's nothing"............... Here goes:

Well my old slant bed New Briton would throw chips like a machine-gun against the opposite wall if the chip deflector was not in place. 25HP groaning. 3/4 depth of cut, .080 feed, 1600RPM, 8" 4340. Ceramic insert.

But don't worry, you're looking good.

I ran a 50 HP Sidney lathe years ago and a 1" deep cut was a normal one. Anything less and the boss said we were wasting time. Gotta love big machines and little ones too...Bob
  5. Well here is my first vid of i hope many. Turning some 4" CRS with a 3/16" deep cut on my SB10K bench lathe. Running in backgear to keep the spindle speed down and increase the power. It is for a faceplate for my home made index head. Just click on the pic for the vid...Bob

  6. I built the bigger loop last year for Christmas and New Years open house so for this year i added another loop a little smaller and up a little higher. There is a 3rd loop planned for sometime in the spring. My buddy has his annual holiday open house with all his trains of all scales. The ceilingtrains are for Lionel sized trains and are welded together in my shop from 3/8" sq steel tube...Bob

  7. I started this shop press 15 years ago and never had time to finish it. I cut the 3x3 angles, punched the 1" holes and left it sit in the corner. Then one day i needed to use it to broach some keyways. So i went out and welded it all up then i went to my machine shop and turned the parts to hold the hyd jack and the bottom tooling. The jack, bed plates and bottom angles are all removeable because i am also going to use the frame with a chain fall to raise my 2 metal lathes up to put the legs under them. Then i can bolt the press parts back on. I could use a little bigger jack but it works for U Joints and my keyway broaches just fine...Bob

  9. Ok here's one for everyone - who's got one like this???????.... late 1920's Monarch. 14"x20". Does anyone have any info on one like this??? If so I'd be interested in copies of it. Does anyone know about or how to rebuild one like this? If so I'd again be interested. - JK

Someone here will know. I ran one identical to it. Great lathe...Bob
