  1. ive seen all of thoses and they was great and do you have turners classics movies channle on your cable because from time to time they have a marathon of Hayao Miyazaki of studio Ghibis movies

  4. wow thats the nicest horse shoe ive ever seen it reminds me of all the people that knew i was a blacksmith and asked if i shoed horses why do people always think if ones a blacksmith they only make horse shoes and shoe horses

  6. you could always try putting a corner of the file in a vise and see if the corner will snap off and ive use the newer Nicholson files and there still all hc( good way to beef up a billet)
  7. i know that i could do it by hand but i rather have a belt grinder (too lazy todo it all by hand ):p

  9. i have a 4 1/2 and a benchgrinder but there not so good for bladesmithing and i was wondering if ether of theses would be good for a start ( i cant get a high end one) ShopMaster 1" Belt / 8" Disc Sander or 4" Belt and 6" Disc Sander
  10. oh i see now but ive had good results with anthricite so if bituminous is better for forgeing then i just gotta try it
  11. if that was ment for me i didnt mean that if it stays lit that it would burn hotter or any of that but does soft coal even though its a lower garde it works better if it wasnt ment for me sorry :p
  12. i use coal and its anthracite and i dont have any problems with it and i still cant comprehend how a lower grade(bituminous.) coal can be better to forge with then a higher grade coal (anthracite) is it because the bituminous is eazyer to catch fire and stay lit correct me if im wrong
  13. i have read a lot on Fireplace Mortar being used to line forges and i have a few qustions 1 is it suitable for a coal forge that will be used for welding and will it shatter or crack if the water i use to help the coal to coke up hit the hot mortar
  14. i have a 24in blade that needs heat trating but i dont have long forge to do it so i was wondering if i could push and pull the blades tru the coals and get and even heat to quence the blade

  16. one of my freind is wanting to know if theres a way to bond fire bricks to the sides of a of a coal stove
  17. when i first started blacksmithing i had to make my first pairs of tongs one pair where made out of flat stock and the other made out of rebar and i never have had any problems with it harding on me and ive also forges a few knifes out of it and not many problems mostly cracking from it not being to hot but id forge rebar anyday
