  7. question that some of us that failed school might like an answer to lol....if i had a peice of 100mm (4 inch)flat stock and i wanted to make a 60 degree cut, how far back from right angle would i measure to get 60 degree's thanks regards mike
  8. good on ya mick,count me in depending on what gear other people have,and weather others can do it, maybe we could all take turns in putting something on
  9. this weekend i started to build a set of racks for my trailer because when ever i need to carry something a bit long i ether had to cut it into smaller lenghts or borrow my sons ute,i have completed the front set and will build the rest on my next lot of days off......i also repaired the gutter on my carport befor it rusted out completely..........the most important job i done this weeked was painting a small table that's under our pergola with chalk board paint so that my two granddaughters have a chalk board to writ on when they're here,which i might add is quite often:)

  12. if someone was to buy a hf anvil could you then weld or attach in some way a half decent piece of plate on top as a working surface and would it then be a better anvil regards mike

  14. coke would be my fuel of choice mick,if i can find a good source...i may even for the moment stick with my car rim forge,hope to finish it soon,i can get a touch slack at times lol lol
  15. local garage lets me scavenge through there scrap metal bin....this is what i brought home today .....the long shafts are 24 mm dia and 1.4 meters long.....the coils and leaf spring are off some sort of small truck same for the drum and disk

  17. thanks for the offer ratel10mm but i should be ok for a brake drum,my local garage gives me free access to the scrap metal bin with all the cast off from the cars that they repair.......are you using charcoal or coke,cokes xxxx hard to get hold of
  18. hey griffith you will find double edge2 to be a very good patient teacher and very willing to share his knowledge hi mike i actually wouldn't mind making a proper decent forge myself...if someone was prepared to guide me ;-)
