  1. Charles, stay strong buddy. My little girl is only seven years old. She’s got neurological, mental disorders. Something like this, I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. I’ve made almost anything. Parts for space stations, and military and A lot of dies stamping automotive parts. For 25 years of my life I could fix anything! I/We can’t fix neurological! I made a hard choice of working from home. Yeah, I took an early retirement to be with my little lady in her Limited days. I took a part time position (3yr) as an educator/professor for struggling Youth. As, My daughters situation, I now give back to my community. I wish I did before. Funny how things work out! Walk a day in somebody else’s boots, then reminisce how good you got it! Give good as often as you can, you will be remembered for it on your deathbed!
  2. I got your back. Your daughter and family are in my prayers as well!
  3. Charles, I’ll keep you in my prayers! Lady’s, I hate hospitals. But they seem to be what keeps my little lady alive. My little lady got Rett syndrome. Let’s love Women in our lives...
  4. I’ll let the mods figure if it is a mandatory requirement, that location is critical and and chastising this, if not, is required, and considered acceptable. I see the pros and cons for both sides, but pushing a 17-year-old for his location is just absolutely outrageous, if this is your purpose! The admin has obviously permitted minors to participate. The admin is obviously aware of this situation. But separate yourself when somebody says they’re 17!
  5. In any shape way or form, are you affiliated with this forum? Out your last hundred posts, what is your percentage of asking this question? Is this a position, the forum administration has dedicated to you? Otherwise, I think you’re hackling newcomers. It has been clearly stated in the rules that location is “not” mandatory. If it was mandatory, it would be part of the V bulletin sign up registration criteria! Maybe the admin can collaborate if this is a direct violation! If it is not, then there shouldn’t be any pressure therefore, or there after! I personally have no problem with geological location. But I’m not 17. Demanding this of a 17-year-old gets a little weird! I run a website similar to this, that I have access to everybody’s IP addresses. The internet not that stupid. If the admin of this website really wanted to know my IP address, they have it at their fingertips. Do you have admin privileges? Yes or no? Are you representing this forum in any shape way or form? Yes or no?
  6. I have a small foundry that has a 4 1/2 exhaust port. The magic will start inside the brick bace. The flames will be entering the bottom of the forge. It will be designed just like a big oil furnace. I want to try to get my combustion air up first.
  7. Really! The guy is 17! The read this first clarification is just rude to newcomers. A simple behind the scenes, p.m. from a moderator would hold its weight in gold. Berating publicly, is nothing new, bullies do it every day! Do we really need to know where some 17-year-old lives? Get your xxx out of the clouds buddy,! You almost make me sick to be a member here! Guys like you, make guys like me wanna leave!
  8. Most intimidating welcome I’ve ever seen!
  9. Thank you Glen for, The personal message, that you moved this to a more appropriate forum. Maybe very few here spin their air?
  10. I have a primarily vegetable oil furnace with a diesel start. Has anybody added a spin vane with good results? I want to add a helical Air turbulence chamber to my burn tube.
  11. iwfabrication don’t stop you’re testing and trials. Are you running LP or NG? I am somewhat guessing liquid propane. Get a regulator that can jump you up to 15 psi. And keep everything else the same. Then report back. Most of the time most guys here are helpful.
  12. Sure thing. Here is the broken blower. I got it for free. I am currently using two mini torches. I have a mini 4 stage turbine that seems to do the trick. You can see it in the background of this video (it is blue). What I referred to as the little pipe bomb air compressor in the video, it is just giving head pressure to the vegetable oil tank and diesel oil tank. I am burning about 2.8 gallons per hour with the flame just slightly creeping out the top. I am currently using the turbine to deliver combustion air, Which seems to do a decent job atomizing too.
  13. Is there a replacement for displacement??? What is it? Is there a happy medium? I picked up the blower today and it looks like it needs a new bearing, or two and and maybe a new winding. anyone want to help with windings??? I’m sure there’s probably a motor guy here? If I rewind the motor, is there an easy DIY?
  14. Most often true. But a decent backyard machinist with a lathe could bump something off in an hour or two. It is both a buyers and sellers market right now. To be perfectly honest, I wouldn’t give $50. When just I picked up a Record #5 for $30 Canadian. Or maybe $21USD
  15. Hopefully it’s not a burnt out motor.
  16. After timgunn first post I started searching the local classifieds for ring compressors and Regenerative Blowers. A guy just emailed me back saying “I could come pick up for free, one of his damaged ones”. He mentioned to rebuild it would cost $800 to $900. It has a 4.6 kW motor which is close to 6 hp. Maybe I have a rebuild in my near future. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
  17. I’m using Diesel then switching to vegetable oil. The air atomizes the oil’s and for combustion. Thanks Timgunn for your suggestions. I’ll try them out.
  18. OK, I thought it might’ve been a little easier. I am in Ontario Canada. I am currently using a small four stage turbine. Pumping through three-quarter(ID) garden hose 25 foot long then teeing into two 10 foot half-inch (ID) flexible food grade hose nylon reinforced. These feed my burners. Currently I am getting 45ish CFM from each burner. At the exit of the turbine I’m getting 150 CFM. With all that hose, I have lost 60cfm. My turbine creates 7 psi measuring it as a closed system. I could remove the 25 foot of garden hose. But, I wanted to start to keep an eye on the used market for something more powerful. It does look like a ring compressors might be what I need.
  19. What is the highest pressure blower before becoming a pump? I want to deliver more CFM through a smaller line. There are centrifugal, then the roots blower, Then there is turbine, then there is the mixture of centrifugal with a prop intake. Then there is the good old regular vacuum fan. If higher psi is required to overcome static pressure, which fan would you use? Ideally, I’d like to pull/push 200-300 CFM through a garden hose 10 foot long.
  20. Here are some pictures of my burners. These little burners will run off diesel, used vegetable oil, used motor oil even LP. Here is me putting together my rig. video will not load
