  1. Frosty. I figured. I'l probably visit them again at some point in the next decade or so...flights aren't exactly cheap these days...
  2. It took me several days (weeks?) in my spare time, but I finally got through this entire thread. Most of what follows me home is roadkill. Occasionally stuff gifted from my Father-in-law or my father. This has happened over the past decade or so (and still not set up to smash steel). Gotta finish putting together my anvil, along with mounting my vise. And of course, build the wooden box to put dirt and bricks in for my forge...
  3. That is similar to how I hope to get mine to look like by end of summer. Winter will prove a bit tricky to work in it. For me anyway. Some days in January and February is doesn't get above 0 F. AT least I get more daylight on those days that Frosty does. Then again, at this time of year, Frosty gets all sorts of daylight. I'm jealous of that, and the fishing.
  4. I like dirt/packed gravel. I don't have anything in the way of power hammers or presses, but if I did, I'd pour a pad for it.
  5. Darn...Too bad you're so far off. I'd stop in and pick your brain. And maybe beg to "borrow" the older tools that you're replacing with bigger tools.... I'm cheap when it comes to spending on tools. My small budget has a big part to do with that. Luckily, can build up a fair deal of what I need.
  6. That's bigger than my house. And I just want to set up a corner of my shed for smithing... *sigh* BTW, my 2 brothers live in your neck of the valley. One in Wasilla and the other in Big Lake.
