I found my first hammers at hardware stores and flea markets aswell. I personally did not like using a ball pein myself, but it's personal preference. And for forge info, just search the site, there is all kinds of info here.

Looks good, kinda like mine. Mine is a 160lb, the only problem I have with it is the face is a little soft, but a good anvil otherwise! Way to go!

This may be a stupid question, but since it has to be something that won't corrode, couldn't we use brass aswell? Just checking, I'm no metal expert yet.
