I think the idea of sand or dirt in the stand is a good one. Maybe thats what I'll do.

I don't have a sand blaster at the moment, but I will get one of the ones with the box and gloves. Usually when you go to buy one, they say the CFM requirements right on them.

You could do that, or get a sand blaster to clean with, they work great and you can pick them up pretty cheap.

Thomas is right, you only need to post a close city or relative location, not your adress or phone#, it makes it easier. That way if a question is asked, someone may be able to contact the person and help them in person.

I start my forge with charcoal and paper then switch over to coal. It's well worth buying the charcoal IMO because it makes life much easier!
