  1. Last fall Lowe down box stores had a Makita chop saw and 4 1/2"  7 amp grinder combo marked down from $199 to $149.  Being frugal as I am,  thought to wait till the close out sale.  I have 3 of said stores within my normal travels.  One store had only one the other two had 5.  Checked on the one and it was gone, store guy said they did reduce it for clearance a week back and went quick.  Went by another store and was told they too clearance priced them and one guy bought them all.  Stopped by the last store and they still had all five units along with the $149 price.  I talked to a store guy and ran down the story of the other two stores and then we began to haggle.  I realized I had the upper hand in this negotiation being they were closing out other tools for new incoming stock.  So I got the deal closed for $100 .  My old dewalt flapper grinder is on its last leg along with the cheapo 25 year old chop saw .  The Makita grinder also too has the flapper switch which I prefer.

  2. Well it will be spring gobbler season soon and they are a in full swing now.  Was a stand off yesterday morning behind the house on who would be the lucky propagator, I was able to get the "deed" on video

  3. Thx for the reply,,the tank is old as Methuselah, I have been opening the gas valve sloooowly, I usually do the same on the torch tanks , I will try the reg. on a newer 20 # tank tomorrow , I took the hose off the out port and tried free flow incase was any trash, no ,luck,Ialways crack bottle valve before attaching any thing ,

  4. 0-30 psi adjustable high pressure regulator showed up today,,a snaping/ popping sound as the gas valve is slowly turned on and off .  Sounds like the diaphram inside the regulator. Does not return to set pressure, most times only barely allows flow until repeatedly close/ open gas valve. $45 HOJ. Will call the supplier Monday.  Did get it working for a few times and tested the two burners. Will fine tune those after forge is built, thinking of a old portable air tank as the sacrificial lamb

Thx, I Just mod the nail puller jaws ( sample laying beside) to a scrolling jaw, will do final tuning on a scroll sometime,,I have been finding shop stuff to do as a diversion from prepping for paint on upstairs rooms,,old farm house = a lot of cracks  and a lot of work. Bathroom was remodeled 2 summers back, kitchen  and bedrooms downstairs last year now three rooms left upstairs.  Have to get into the right mind set to get motivated.

Reeltree -nice chisel..  Have you used these for hot chisels before?  Wondering how they would hold up..

No ,, is a first with a rail clip, another poster just did one this past week and the consensuses was a good source  material . Got the tingle  to do a little heat & beat today.

That WR piece reminds me of a fence/gate rail top ornament, or the beginnings of a mushroom
