  3. I did this on my blog, About 6 months ago, i realized i was a pathetic human being playing video games all day. My favorite video games were RPGs and i loved the idea of blacksmithing. so, i always maxed blacksmith skills first. I finally found myself weak and a bit chubby, and decided to pursue smithing in real life. BRACE YOURSELF, HERE COMES THE RANT -------- I cannot believe I was dumb enough to follow the crowd. I HATE that i could be doing something in real life that would survive many years after i died and have fun making it. I HATE that video games give you a false sense of achievement. Once you get bored of them (and you will), you just sell them or throw them in a closet, never to be played again. I have seen and felt myself getting stronger and being MUCH less depressed. It has helped me to the point that it saved me from suicide one day. with Seasonally affected disorder (get said in the winter), smithing gave me something else to think about until I felt better. Thanks you everyone at IFI for giving me the info to have this opportunity -Adam Ford
  4. Thanks guys! i was really worried! ill be grabbing this up
  5. Today, i went and saw an awesome old man with 8 ANVILS! although they were nice, they were out of our price range. one we found was in immaculate condition and we think we can talk him into $200.00 for it. regardless, i think it may have a crack in it between the body and the waist under the weight denomination but i cant tell. here's a couple of pictures

close, but most of the shears are the actual cutting part. maybe about 5 inches of handle and the rest are blades.
  7. I understand now. Don't go to the anvils, let the anvils come to YOU.

They are like big, black, heavy tin snips with a very tight, yet workable jaw. no rust, black coating, like they were in a museum or something. will i buy them? no. I don't have any money currently and my birthday money budget was blown on an anvil and stuff. thanks for the info!

I went a-looking in cowboy country and found a man who had a pair of "Shears made for a hardy hole". he wanted $200.00 for them. they were about 2 feet long and VERY tight. Are they actually for an anvil hardy? or for shearing monster sheep with steel wool? if they are, what are they for? Thanks! (sorry for no pictures :/)

  19. I always use a sheet of newspaper wrapped in a sheet of newspaper wrapped in a sheet of newspaper then twist tied at the frillies. Light the frillies, put it next tho the input, cover it with coal, turn blower on full blast. 100% lighting chance so far. catches green coal easier than coke or charcoal
