  1. Between living on the Prairie and being new to blacksmithing I'd sure use it....good to meet other folks out here on the Great Sea of Grass! Dean
  2. Just ordered my Habanero from Chile Forge today! Had the chance to use one at a knife making demo a few weeks ago and was very impressed. Been looking at several makes and models over the last few months and - at least for me - this was the best combination available. The absolute nicest and most helpful folks I have ever dealt with both on the phone and via e-mail.....more patience than I would have had in dealing with my many questions. Now the wait begins...guess I better get the shop squared away and ready!
  3. Very nice Paul.....I've just started out working some flowers, cat tails and such...lots of fun and have learned allot hot cutting everything out from flat stock. Thanks for posting the photo!
  4. Howdy Pug - your just down the road!. You must have been looking at the Cliff Carroll 125lb at the FC there in H'Ville? I have that same anvil and since I just do some hobby hammerin' and nothing serious like most folks on here it works great for me. Actually was out by Cliff's place there in Larkspur, Colorado last month and stopped by to buy it. About the nicest fella you could ever meet - he was finishing anvils out in is shop there and dropped everything to show me around - his anvils, his forges, his whole operation. Anyway - pretty nice anvil and has a hardened face to around 52 I think? He also showed me that hardening operation there at his shop - pretty interesting how that works too! Dean
  5. The one you see me holding is certainly not in the best shape or from a famous anvil maker or that sort of thing - but it was my Grandpas from out on the farm....and so that makes it the best darn anvil I have!
