it is 2LCs as there is a weld in between the join and so it is easier coconut by doubles as then you know how many welds their are.
Gotta love autocorrect and autocomplete!

We used to, pretty warm last winter but a moose dresses out a bit over 1/2 it's weight on the hoof and it's no problem getting someone to let you use part of their freezer.
Frosty the Lucky.
for a "dividend" I'd guess

Wish you luck. Hope it goes well.

Will they be able to fit in a hoopak sling?
-
first I will see if my minion will fit
Well then... shouldn't you call it a "Mini(on) Press" instead. C'mon man, truth in advertising.

Hmmm. I don't have a lathe, but I do have an old pipe threading machine, turns 33rpm. I bet it would work a treat.

So he can skim or pick one IFI character and read all of his/er posts.
Frosty The Lucky.
ummm... Yeah. There are a few on here that unless he is a speed reader, would take more than a couple months to read all their posts. Not to point fingers, but someone who's name is part of TPAAAT comes to mind immediately.
You're not too far behind him. Shoot, even the site owner has fewer posts than either of ya'll.

I have to include my "oohs and aahs". I love the whole package. Especially the subtleties like the parallel of the bolster to the ricasso. And the shape of the bolster, its fit with the handle and the contrasts of the smooths and roughs.

Would Ballast Point - Jabañero Sculpin IPA count as Cajun, even if it is from here in San Diego, CA. It is so hot that you need a beer in the other hand just to cool you down, although ice cream would probably work too. What Ice cream flavor goes good with beer though?
Salted peanut?

Sounds like the dimensions of my soup-can forge.

I basically did the same with a 3/4" t-burner to straighten the leg of my 4" post vise a little while back. It had a 90 degree bend in it when I bought it.

I was just joking about a shorter hammer. My actual thoughts on it were that he would find that out when he got there. That it wouldn't change whether he went or not.
-
That sounds like a really fun time. You should find out if he works sitting or standing before you go. Definitely post pictures.
why? Will he need a shorter hammer?

Rubber items and marks... This is a blacksmithing site and not a 50 shades discussion forum isn't it?
-
Rubber chicken heads leave funny marks... don't ask how I know.
pics... or it never happened.

Or just give up, stick a canary feather between your teeth and put that score to use. (Taking pics along the way of course)

It sounds from your op (original post) that you were thinking to have a metal 'liner' on the inside. The straight simple answer is this... No. Your proposed design would not be adequate. That is why the others were recommending you use some of your time to read information available in this forum that they have already spent much of their time posting. You can learn what will work, a lot of what won't and the why's of both. That is, if you will put the time into reading the info that is already here.

USPS flat rate box makes everyone neighbors.
and is why I put 'thinks'.

Bummer? "Hey folks I've got solid gold and I'm upset it's not silver!"
What alloy do you want for blades and what H13 do you have to trade?
lol! I don't think he quite understood what you were telling him at first. Or he doesn't think there's anyone close enough to him to trade with maybe...
-
bummer...thx for the info tho, greatly appreciated
I don't see the 'bummer'. You can save some for yourself for tooling. And should have no problem trading the rest to other smiths in exchange for good quality knife steels.

See if you have a materials lab around that you can call, or email. A mass spectrometer would tell you what is in it.
I would try some experiments.. Heat to nonmagnetic, and quench in water - does it get hard, tough, crack? Break test, bend test, etc...
We had some 1/2" dia. steel we got at a local welding shop years ago for some u-bolts we needed to make. They would bend fine cold, but would crack when heated to red with a torch.
I don't think he can get it to non magnetic... he posts that it breaks if he hears it to orange.
As soon as it is heated to orange it literally breaks. No chance to forge it.

Dragon fangs as per the post in member projects (iirc)...
Separate them and spread the hole large enough to add a tab and make bottle openers...

Frosty, you have me cravin biscuits and gravy now. It's only 5pm so I guess it's still early enough for breakfast don't you think?
It's never too late for a good breakfast! It is after all, the most important meal of the day.

They're all afraid us Yankees will actually show up and make a mess of things.
