TOO right Thomas nothing japanese in that tanto
Save for the fact that almost *ALL* traditional historical tanto's do NOT have that tip geometry. There are a very few oddball ones like that. It was popularized by an American company that found it easier to make than doing than the more common shape and so became *the* tanto shape for folks who didn't bother to look at the hundreds to thousands of originals still around.

Thank you Frosty appreciate .
Chris: very nice work VERY. The hammer is beautiful and the chain is like frosting on the cake. I LOVE the shield, I've done some repousse and appreciate the effort and skill in the shield. WOW indeed.

Hi Waldgiest thank you just plain mild steel .
Wow that’s quite the piece of work there! What is the base material? You did a tremendously great job with it!
Chris -
Hi Aden thanks for the complements , the blade is all one piece ,,yes give it a try great pass time mate .
Bloody great work, is that just one R R spike or have you added any other steel to it. Thinking of trying my hand at axes, halberds, swords etc in the near future. Love all the old weaponry, my mum jokes about me being born in the wrong age cause of it, if I had more room and money I'd have a giant collection of stuff like that.

Hi Bentiron 1946 Thank you for the complements mate appreciate ,
Nice work! I like that stand too. Are those rubies or garnets? Nice job on the engraving also, you're just plain and simply better than good you're excellent!!!
Just garnets , rubys are a bit dear for an old rail spike i think .
Made this a while ago a little Thors hammer not much over a inch in size used my scrap sterling silver up ,
carved a fire brick out and poured it in then cleaned it up .
