Well I had my first class forging yesterday. We straightened a bent piece of 3/8 round, made is square then done a taper and draw then made it round again. Used a piece of welding rod and done some freehand scrolling. Hot cut a horseshoe in half, then straightened it out and hot cut it lenght wise and made a heart on one end. Done some bending on the other end and made a hook on it. Now that i've got my feet wet I can not wait to start doing more. The smith I was working with told me that I had a knack for it.
