  1. After looking at Ed's website and taking some advice I decided to experiment and etch the cable a little longer. This blade was etched with ferric chloride and really made the decarbed lines stand out.
  2. The handle was sanded on a belt sander. But it was shaped on a treadle hammer with 1" round stock dies on the top and bottom to shape it up some first.
  3. I did not know what a puzzle box was, so I checked it out on the web. Here is a simply made metal puzzle box. Small Push Puzzle Box Thanks for the post. If I can ever get bored I may have to try one of these. If you could get plans it would be like getting the combination to a safe.
  4. Appears to me the secret was vanadium. That was a good article, thanks Glenn.
  5. It turned out I was not able to go to the meeting, I had a scheduled demonstration at the MS Craftsmens Guild, but I got my wife to go and she took pictures and some notes. I had to put them in my gallery I got an error in the events gallery. He did at least one with pewter but mainly used lead to show the process. There are a lot more pictures. Key word is pewter casting.
