  3. That is a really nice axe!. i have to find one of my axes and turn it into a bearded axe, i just love it :D
  4. it's nothing fancy, my brother is a Carpenter and when i consulted with him he gave me a piece of wood and oil...it's not very strong but it doesn't chip. a good quality when it comes to Handles in my opinion. i didn't ask but i sure will the next time i meet him and thank you for the compliment!
  5. i just couldn't get a good strategy to drill holes for pins, the metal was too strong and i once tried to punch a hole through but the pin broke . this was not my first knife but it is my first forged knife . i put oil on the wood and it came out pretty well, the grip is good but it's not for swinging, decent cutting knife. i heated the knife to bright yellow and waited for it to turn cherry red and then dipped it in oil. then i heated it again with a torch but just the backside and dipped it in water. it holds a fairly good edge and looks wonderful!. the Blade is 13cm (5 inches) and the thickness spans out from 0,5mm to 0,4 mm the tip is 0,2mm. the handle is 11,5cm(4,5inches) and the thickness is 2,4cm(0,94 inches). im really happy with the knife!. i have had a passion for knifes since i was a little boy. im glad you like it :P

  10. i have anvilites but i have it under control! being as there aren't many anvils around here and they are Very expensive!...but unfortunately i have hammerites and carspringites:/ and there is enough to go around!
  11. Look real nice:) you might want to thin the blade more and raise the edge...that way it will cut better and be easier to sharpen
  12. haha! Icies! and i agree with you...people who don't know the love of a dog, are missing out . how are you after the accident? have you started hammering at it again?
  13. Thanks:) this blueprint is Really helpful!
  14. i was wondering if anyone could maybe draw out for me how to forge a Bowie? i want to try and make a bowie without cutting the shape:) Thank you in advance!

  16. that is one of the most beautiful knife i've ever seen...i just want to thank you for making it!
  17. it made adjustments to the Disc itself, i cut a little of the sides to get longer bits of steel in there. im going to cut a small hole on the other side... but for now i'll just keep it like that until i have to use it. and about the height i have put another stack of firebricks under tha anvil and it is at about the same height as the barrel
  18. it's great! that puppy is cute! i have two dogs, one of them an Icelandic sheep dog. i couldn't have asked for a more loyal dog:)
  19. It's a W.I.P:) im really happy with the shape And feel of the handle.
  20. Well...the loooong wait is over and i have made my first knife using only an anvil and a hammer!. i have been waiting to get a forge and anvil for ever! i haven't been able to get an anvil for a pretty long time and i never thought i could get coal unless i would have to spend a Fortune! but...my prayers were answered when a man called me the other day about an ad i had put on a website and he told me that he had a used anvil for sale!. i was like a dog with a bone i was so happy!. but then i realized that i had nothing to do with an anvil unless i had coal, the very same day my brother entered the room and told me that he had talked to a local blacksmith(i had no idea there was one in my neighbourhood) and he had told him that i should just visit the Aluminium smelting plant and talk to someone there and i would get as much coal as i wanted! so my Blacksmithing days have begun and im happier than i have been in years! so,I can finally call myself a proud Blacksmith :D
