  1. Key Jkindy, it's tobigforyou from BushcraftUSA.

  2. Wow. thanks allot guys, great sources! Guys I don't know if Rick is here. But has he ever tried putting carbon nanotubes into his crucible? http://www.kleancarbon.com/carbon-nano-tubes.aspx"
  3. Thanks JPH for clearing that up. What about the crucible steel, what are some good producers?
  4. Are there any modern day smiths making Wootz? I've heard of Angel Sword's Techno-Wootz. But does anyone here know how to make it?
  5. A.S. Jordan Bladesmith - Documentary "Knives"
  6. Thanks guys for all the input there is allot of knowledge in this forum. So yeah I will probably get a Peddinghaus then. I found them here: Peddinghaus BTW: side tracking is fine lol . As long as we get the question answered. Some of you guys have some really interesting replies.
  7. Guys let's post cool videos you find online, or make yourself(we have some great bladesmiths here.) The Cutting Edge Jerry Bowen visits Bob Kramer, whose premium knives have become the gold standard and are selling for $300...an inch.
  8. Thanks guys for the input! Btw what is you position on cast vs. forge? Does it really make a difference?
  9. Peddinghaus Anvils...what's your take on it guys? Do any of you guys have one?
  10. Thanks Tom I didn't thinkabout that. pretty cool idea.
  11. Did it have anything to do with the forge? you kinda got me worried there.
  12. Well I am kind leaning towards the Diamondback 3 burner. since it is 18 inches long. The forge is 18 inches, and the blade I want to make is 18 inches, is that ok? or does the forge need to be slightly larger than the blade?
  13. I will be using it to make blades. specifically Bushcraft knives(4 inch blades) and Machetes(Martindale Golok no2 types) 10+ inch blades I could make my own forge, but I find that a bit intimidating. I have never really done it before.
  14. Thanks guys for your input. Also I heard the square forges tend to get hot spots is this true?
