Is there a blacksmith around the Dubois, PA area that would be willing to show a newb the basics? I know of a guy in Falls Creek that did some demos at the Sykesville Ag & Youth Fair but I don't know how to contact him. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Hi pamike, you may want to consider joining PABA. That is the Pennsylvania Artist Blacksmith Association and is a nice group to get to know. You'll get some good networking thru them. Here is a link: PABA Home

I highly recommend taking a weekend course at: Blacksmith Guild of Central Maryland

Mike , at one time there was a group in around Punxy who offered classes .

Doug Firestone is highly skilled, and I believe teaches classes occasionaly. About two hours away from you, I believe.
