I would love to see y’all’s forge calipers, antique, forged by you, forged by someone else, whatever!

I want to add to this excellent post and ask what most people use them for. I don’t have any, but they seem extremely useful. This may be a dumb question, but I hope it will be answered!

Checking dimensions, like getting scrolls the same size. Or maybe if you are forging down flat bar to check consistency of width. Marking off repeated lengths. Scribing circles. Spacing between spindles. Spacing between holes to be drilled or punched. 

Figures i just made a set a couple weeks ago and they are in my tool box at work. 

Here is the first set i ever made. Not real pretty but they work well. 

This has given me a great idea of how to repurpose my failed nutcrackers….

The boss is much to wide and thin, that is mostly what i do not like about them. 

Here is the set i had in my toolbox at work. We got a new head inspector at work and i took them as kind of a joke that i needed them calibrated.
