hill.josh
Does anyone know a quick and dirty way of building a belt grinder? it doesn't have to last long or be very strong just needs to be finished by TONIGHT, for the power its just gonna hook up to a cheap bench grinder without one of the wheels. J W Bennett
Sounds like an accident waiting for an injury to join it to me:o
Don A
You can get a 4" bench grinder at Lowes or Home Depot for around $100. You can get one of the 1" belt grinders for a lot less. In agreement with John, either option will cost a lot less than the emergency room bill. Check your local Craiglist for tools. You might find a good deal on a used one. Neal L
Try this if you have a harbor freight near you. You might even get more then one use out of it. Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices
hill.josh
o yeaa.. forgot that they sold those there. Thats probably a better idea.. I already tried to slap one togethor and managed to throw some metal around and strip the thread on the bench grinder. So I'm heading to home depot now. thanks Neal, I don't think there is a harbor freight close by though(atlanta traffic makes anything across town a couple hours). Mulciber
Rough meaning of the quote was this: Slow down, you can't afford to make a mistake. Fixing the mistake will take you 10x longer than doing it right. You need to take a good long (slow and free of haste) look at that concept. ;)

If you ever decide to buy a GOOD Belt Grinder check out :Multitool belt and disc grinder attachment at Van Sant Enterprises, Inc. I own one and would not be without it. Highly pleased with the tool.
