broken buffalo forge blower

Featured Replies

my buffalo forge blower broke a carbon fiber thrust washer that holds the main shaft from poping up and ticking....

Where would i find replacement parts for it.... Is there a site to order parts from?

Thrust washer? If a bearing will fit there, then see if you can find a bearing that will fit the space. Otherwise, you might try buying or making a brass washer that could serve to hold the shaft in place and also act as a bearing surface.

I am afraid that buffalo forge no longer is in business.

I have had to fix my buffalo blower and i had to custom cut washers. so i am thinking that you are going to need to make your own parts. Another option if find another broken blower for cheap and see if it has the part you need.

ok..well i got a nylon washer and made it fit in the blower!

the only proplem i can find is that the blower is a little harder to turn...any way to fine tune this?

i painted it up and it looks all new

The first three pics are the newly painted blower and the last is the before pic

What pix, Brandon? And you might try some lube on the nylon washer, like a spray on dry lube.

(Picture #3) Barefoot in November??!!! Man, it must be nice!! LOL;) Nice looking blower. It's worth fixing.

Very nice website, congratulations on both the website and the images of forged items on the site!

oops srry.......here they are

I have one just like that one, Its a great blower! The only way to get parts for it is to buy another one and steel the parts off of it or make your own.

lol ...yup its nice out here in cali!

Sabre,

Probably your washer is a hair or two too thick. you will either need to shave/sand a little off or get a thinner washer. If the surface is rough when you are done, install with this side towards the non rotating part. Another possible solution (if it can be done on this model) is to install a thicker gasket between the case and cover.

Nice find,

Rich C.
