natkova
I dont know did anyone tried this but as I doo woodworking and metalworking together and I have one stump tight space in shop, I need to use space that I have so I came up with idea if making choping block and making mortise in it then gluing it to wooden board which goes into hardy hole And It look like this. Work for me It can be adjusted , maybe thicker choping board can be used for this purpose instead of 1 inch thick pine.
JHCC
Not a bad idea. Something like this could also be useful for straightening twists with a wooden hammer, to keep from damaging them on the anvil face.
Frosty
I do something like that Nat. I split kindling with the hardy by driving the wood down onto it. Works nicely for smaller wood. Frosty The Lucky.
natkova
I saw this that dF on YouTube nou t his table and više whole on hard yhole when he want to weld on it using anvil for welding table purposes. I mean my board need to be at least 2 inch thick and from hardwood this was just test with 1" pine thickness I know I done that firstly but I dont use this for choping only kindling or splitting them I use it for shaping axe handles and stuff. Why internet or its USA stuff that you split kindling and light fire with it we here use axe to (hew wood) Like making shavings from axe in shape like this being shaved by plane. It's easier to light those shavings then small kindlings splitted. I use that technique too but I first hew wood int smaller shavings then I use those splited kindlings easier much more to light fire .
