TobJohn
I am interested in traditional blacksmithing, specifically muzzleloader gunsmithing, and figured this would be a good place to learn more about the larger craft and find resources to get started. Thanks!
BillyBones
Welcome aboard from the Buckeye state. To start, fill in your header. If you give a location you may be surprised how many smiths live quite close to you and we love gathering and sharing knowledge. As wel as tommorrow i will have forgotten that you are in Virginia. Nothing specific, nearest large city will suffice. Like mine says, outside Dayton Oh. Grab a drink and a sandwich and start exploring. Lots and lots of info here, just have to wade through some thread drift here and there. Not to mention the puns. But do start with the thread "READ THIS FIRST" that will give basic instuctions on how to navigate the site, such as do not use the built in search. As well as what is acceptble speech. We try and keep it family freindly. Lats Quad state there was a gunsmith doing a demo. I watched him make the but plate but that was about it. Anyway, again welcome. We are freindly bunch here. We love pictures as well.
