May 13, 20224 yr Champion power hammers use 90 degree dies and so are worked from the sides. Mine have leaf spring linkages though not the LG coil spring. BTW my 25# LG came from Merino Colorado and arrived there in 1915; been at least 25 years since it was sneaked into NM though... As for 4"x4"x8" stock some farm tractors use stock like that on their implements. I measured one in La Union NM that was just sitting half buried along a fence row. Unfortunately the owner died before I could ask him about it. Might ask around an implement dealer, especially around a place where they run to large fields and big tractors. (As for HP, our 1966 volkswagon beetle, 1300 model, was 50 BHP and I would expect newer ones to be higher! 2008 rabbit was 170 hp for example.)
