Osmon
I bought a 145 pound Dalsbruk Anvil today. I’m not finding a lot about it so far. Dalsbruk Finland. I think I scored.
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
It looks like you did indeed score a good one.
Osmon
Thanks, the auction had a vague description with no weight. I’m looking to find out what the stamp numbers mean. I found the logo, but no idea of age. Except the company was bought out in the 1920s.
Frosty
A mystified auctioneer can be an advantage. Have you put it on a scale? I'm completely unfamiliar with the make but castings from that corner of the planet are typically darn high quality steel. The chipping on the edges and lack of dents makes me think this one is no exception. Have you done a rebound test to see how lively it is? Have you used it yet? What did you think? All in all, SWEET score! Frosty The Lucky.
JHCC
"2647" means that it's from THE FUTURE!!! Nice score -- now put it to use! Addendum: I'm not familiar with Dalsbruk anvils, but I see that Dalsbruk itself has a museum about its ironworking past: http://bruksmuseum.fi/en/home/. One of the photos shows what looks like a pattern and mold for casting an anchor, which would argue in favor of high-quality cast steel.
