November 5, 20214 yr Hello from Buffalo, NY! This was my 1st anvil and it has served me well. I currently use a 306lb PW. I've studied AinA but am unsure if the hourglass base means 100% Trenton. There are absolutely zero visible markings. It's 152lbs.
November 5, 20214 yr Interesting. No obvious sign of the F&N eagle, the FISHER name, or the weight marking on the foot having been chiseled or ground off, but it really does look Fisheresque to my eye. Let's see if IFI member njanvilman (our resident Fisher expert) weighs in.
November 5, 20214 yr Author It has a nice clear ring. Not ear piercing nor low and dull. I gather the hourglass is not Trenton exclusive then. Edited November 5, 20214 yr by M3F
November 5, 20214 yr Clear ring means definitely not a Fisher! Actually an hourglass is more a Hey Budden anvil indicator---except that for a fairly short amount of time Trentons had a deep hourglass before they went to the caplet indentation. Definitely check on the front of the front foot for numerical stampings!
