bipolarandy
Thought id share some recent work of mine, they are just quick snap shots so they might be blurry. And a couple of pieces in progress. [url=""] All of this is going to the Roycroft craft gallery in East Aurora Ny. -Andrei

chyancarrek
Randy, Wonderful work! I'm a big fan of the Roycrofters - Ol' Elbert is one of my favorite reads. Were these commissioned pieces?
bipolarandy
Chyan, The head of the gallery saw my work and wanted to put my stuff in there. they dont have any good iron work and when they saw my big candle sticks they loved them. Im not really into the Art's and Crafts style , not my cup of tea Im sure Ol' Elbert was a cool guy but I could never be a part of a commune/collective/artistic utopia ,where every piece has to be the same And everyone makes the same thing.... I mean, its 2008 and the "new" roycroft artists are still making work identical to the people 100 years ago, Same bowls , same tables, same woodcuts, what happened to artistic freedom
chyancarrek
Randy, I hear ya - Like all Utopian visions, it had a pretty short life span. Working to "service the memory of" wouldn't work over the long term for me either but I do like Hubbard's eclectic writing style and his compilation of other works. Congrats on getting your work there! Hope it turns into a regular placement.

AdrianWood
Some very nice work you have done there. Really like the forged texture at the base of the candlesticks.
Bentiron1946
I like your ginkgo leaf base candle sticks. If my wife were to walk into the gallery she would walk out with them. Nice work.
