August 12, 200817 yr Hi I would like to share this picture from an Antracit member. U know u have too start practice early to become a god blacksmith. (1pic of 4pic). Is it this early they talk about, 20 months, ?
August 12, 200817 yr Thats too cute! I like the blacksmith sledgehammer grip. He'll be striking soon :)
August 12, 200817 yr 20 months is not to young to work on hammer control but I would be leary about letting him hit hot steel. :D
August 12, 200817 yr Looks like it's time to get out the green coal class material. wood mallet and playdoh or clay.
August 12, 200817 yr LOL what a fun way to teach little ones how to make things for fun and play... I have a 2yo and an 18mo who would be great candidates for a clay forging session :)
August 13, 200817 yr It's not just for fun. Makes a good blacksmithing tool because the clay will re-act the same way hot steel does when hit.
August 13, 200817 yr Naw, it's a perfect age to get started. Just get him some safety glasses and long pants eh? Frosty
August 14, 200817 yr Cool! By the time this wee lad graduates college he will have about twenty five years experience in the smithy...
