Lurchwv@BJS
Have always wanted to try making things by hammer and forge. Figured no time like the present, sometimes one of these days never comes. Looking forward to any and all info and furture communications. Thanx Rich
Thomas Dean
Howdy from East TEXAS!! and welcome to IFI! You hit the mother load for blacksmithing information, how-to, and PICTURES. There is a wealth of information that hasn't even been tapped into yet, so if you have a question...ask! You did notice that I put PICTURES in all caps, well that is just to emphasize that we just LOVE PICTURES, so bring 'em on when you get to making stuff. Good luck and enjoy. There are so great folks up your way so hook up with on of the groups. We may look a little rough but we are a nice bunch. ;)
jayco
Rich, welcome to Iforgeiron! I don't know where Pine Grove West Virginia is, but since I'm in Greenup Co. Ky, you must be one of my neighbors I haven't met yet. What you said about 'no time like the present'..........I couldn't agree more. At 52, I'm trying to catch up with all the things I wanted to do at 25. Anyway, Enjoy the site! James
son_of_bluegrass
Welcome I don't know if it has been mentioned yet but look up ABANA (Artist Blacksmith Assn of North America) and find the closest local chapter. Then go to a meeting and introduce yourself. While these forums are great, many thing are easier to learn working with someone. ron
