BABA is revisiting Storrs Wood for a second round of forging under the trees!

We have been asked this time to forge scythes and billhooks etc to use in clearing and maintaining the wood and as a nod back to the history of the area.

Camping onsite is available and there are also lots of pubs and accommodation in the area.

There may be a small charge to contribute towards the cost of coke and en9

If you’re interested in attending, please contact Ned Willett

Is anyone planning to attend this?

I'm seriously tempted as I've never been to a meet before.

I'm very new though so I'd not be much use in terms of forging scythes and billhooks!

I like the idea but not a member of the group. Do I need to google you?

Jon: Do NOT let being new stop you from attending, there is always something for everybody to do. Just holding a piece so it doesn't fall out of the forge or allows a smith to use both hands is valuable.

Even if you don't strike a blow, every minute you spend with an experienced smith is worth many times the time spent figuring it out yourself. Just getting to hang out and talk to smiths will pay dividend in spades.

Both you guys, get ye hence!

Frosty The Lucky.
