John grant
New to this Forum. Thanks for your input. I recently bought an old Fisher 100 pound anvil . I don’t see a year anywhere. There’s a 1” tall 3 close to bottom. Does anyone know what year it may have been made . Thanks in advance for your input. John Grant

ThomasPowers
A picture of the logo would help; with the info provided all I can say would be "sometime when Fisher was in business." It was sort of like asking "I have a 4 door Ford car can you tell me when it was made?"
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
Pictures of the anvil from several directions would also help.
John grant
I can send pictures but I do not know how to post them . It’s a 100 pound Fisher with only a 3 cast near bottom. Thanks for your input. John
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
Knowing the location would help, hence the suggestion in the read this first thread to edit your profile to show your location. If you have the pictures saved on computer, look at the bottom of the editor and you will see the paper clip and the text "Drag files here to attach, or choose files. After the pictures download, click on the + to insert them. Then double click to edit the size to around 640X480.

I’m just going to assume it’s at least 100 . Regards John the 3 is near bottom under the strap . Hard to see with strap in the way . It’s been beat up bad . I love old tools

ThomasPowers
OK; Now I'm waiting for Josh who runs the Fisher Museum to tell us when that version was used.
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
It's a shame the heel was broken off, still a lot of life in whats left though.
John grant
Thanks guys for your input. I wrote to the museum but no response yet. The anvil has a lot of wear and abuse . I’ll deal with that. It’s one of my prized possessions . If I never find out the year it was made , that’s fine . It’s got a home now . MC Hammer
The weight of Fisher's is on that front foot that has a strap going over it on the logo side. Looks like 180 something there. It's raised so take a wire brush and brush it. I didn't find my weight until I brushed it. Here's a picture of where the weight stamp is: Your Fisher is better defined than mine. Too bad the heal is missing, but it's still usable.
