Corey wilder
Hello, I just found an anvil in the back of my grandfathers old welding shop. I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about it? Any info would be very much appreciated. I know it’s a Trenton, and foot markings are Z 157 and A46600. Thanks and god bless! ThomasPowers
The 157 is the weight in pounds and the A46600 is the serial number, which can be correlated to the date it was made---my copy of Anvils in America is about 200 miles north of me right now. It was made in Columbus Ohio.

Metalmaniac1970
I have an anvil marked 200 left foot under horn and l3lo7498? On right foot. No handling holes and the bottom of the base, underneath the anvil is shaped like an hourglass like an 8 with no line in the center.someone said trenton but i thought trentons were plated. This is forged.

Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
4001-12000 serial numbers are listed as 1899 in AIA, so early 1899. Do you have any pictures of it, we love pictures.
