eriktlupus Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 I have been going thru the the forges 101 thread and using search ( rigidizer formula+iforge iron) but i cannot seem to find a ratio of water to powder to use when spaying the blanket down. Is this a hard science or is it just an experience type thing? Any help is greatly appreciated. Erik Quote
Jclonts82 Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 I had the same question before, but found an answer that worked for me. Mikey98118 said Jansent's approach was good Quote
machinisttalk Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Check my thread. Ufo build. Mixed with water is gets jelly. So just mix it until the spray bottle starts having trouble. Heat when done. Burn off the food color and water. Quote
eriktlupus Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 So looking like a 2:1 ratio of water and silica. Thank you. I read the entire forges 101 thread and either didnt see it or was just so flooded with info i forgot it Quote
Mikey98118 Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 No secret formula is given there. I have stated repeadedly that people can mix the fumed silica into the water until it gets too thick for the spritzer nozzle to handle, and then add more water. There is no perfect ultimate ratio; that is a myth. Quote
