November 18, 200520 yr Sweet! I have about 200BF of aromatic cedar that I plan to make into quilt boxes/chest. Will forge all hardware also. Plans are to use NOTHING store bought. You have just put me in a bind to even come close! Beautiful work! I'm with Sandpile, wish you were closer...
November 18, 200520 yr Thommo, Here's a hope chest/glory box/quilt chest/sea chest I made for my daughter's sixteenth birthday. Made of Huon Pine; it was sixteen years in the making. Huon is a rare, beautifully grained and sweetly perfumed wood, found only in Tasmania...the big island south of mainland Australia and is obtained from the bottom of creeks and rivers and lakes where the logs may have lain for a thousand years. The species grows for thousands of years anyway.
November 18, 200520 yr LOL, Yes Irn I did say, just as you said about your offering but I was too dopey to notice.
