Following are details: Plans for his services are as follows: Visitation at the Vineyard Church of Davenport, 2402 W. Kimberly Rd. Davenport, Iowa 52806 Thursday, March 20, 2008 from 3:00-7:00pm Funeral service to begin at 7:00pm. Burial will be in Clinton Brick Mennonite Church Cemetery, Millersburg, Indiana. Saturday, March 22, 2008. Graveside Service at 10:00 amInformal Memorial Service to follow at the Church. Ten Hammers Posted March 17, 2008 Author Share Posted March 17, 2008 Ruben A. Funk, 52 Davenport, IA, died at 5:00am Saturday, March 15, at the home of his sister, Marie Whirledge, Millersburg, IN. He had been ill with Leukemia for 12 months. He was born to Walter and Amanda (Nisly) Funk on July 28, 1955 in Pryor, OK. He graduated from the University of Missouri, Rolla, in 1980 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a Professional Engineer, a 20 year employee of 3M, and most recently a 3M Specialty Materials Engineer at Cordova, IL. Ruben was an active member of the Vineyard Church of Davenport, and participated in mission trips to Mexico, New Orleans and Central America. He was a blacksmith and belonged to BSA, BAM and IVBA and was also a Steam Railroad enthusiast. Surviving are his children, Jason Funk, Columbia, MO: Andrew Funk and Emily Funk, Davenport, IA: two granddaughters: his mother, Amanda Funk, Millersburg, IN; brother Harry (Margie) Funk, New Carlisle, IN; and sisters Marie (Ben) Whirledge and Betty Funk both of Millersburg, IN. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Funk. Visitation will be Thursday at the Vineyard Church of Davenport from 3 to 7 with the Funeral service at 7pm. A burial service will be held at 10am Saturday at Clinton Brick Mennonite Church, Goshen, IN with a memorial service to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, Ruben has requested that memorials be made to Vineyard Ministries Central Mexico, 2402 W.
