Daswulf
Welcome aboard Steve. There are a bunch of good threads on hammer technique and posture that would be good to read over to save on putting excess strain on your back while forging. I have learned a good bit and am finding that I hurt less. happy hammering
Frosty
Welcome aboard Steve, glad to have you. If you'll put your general location in the header you might be surprised how many of the Iforge gang live within visiting distance. Do you have good smithing coal available in your location? There are alternatives from charcoal to propane and we have them all covered. A bad back smithing kit has even been covered there are folk who practice the craft from a wheel chair so we'll get you up and abusing poor defenseless hot steel in no time. Frosty The Lucky.
