First knife

Featured Replies

Found some odd eye bolts laying around so decided to use one for a knife. Turned out pretty decent for my first project. Going to work on cleaning it up and attaching a handle over the next few days

Do you know if the material would harden.. I don't recognize the base part as being a high carbon scrap piece..

Nice start.. And even it it's not hardenable it's stil good practice..

I didn't like the way it turned out so I never heat treated I'll try to do another one soon and treat

Ah, before you spend more time making another knife heat treat that one so you know if it's worth using the bolts. If it gets screwed up, so what, you don't like it already. Hmmmm?

I think you need to go down to the knife making section . Get your self a cool beverage of choice a snack and read thru it before you hurt yourself  or some one else.  Not trying  to be mean  but if you don't know what you are dealing with knife making can be dangerous.
