Geoff T
Hi All, I picked up this anvil today, it's marked "Nash England 035" just wondering, would anyone know how old it might be? the iron dwarf
it looks cast, the seam in the lower half is visible. if the numbers are spaced out as 0 3 5 that would be the weight 0 cwt 3 quarters 28 pounds times 3 is 54 pounds 5 pounds so weight should be 59 pounds, please check this on bathroom scales if you can
John in Oly, WA
Isn't 28 times 3 = 84?

Fatfudd
Many older English anvil's bases were forged in closed dies and have what appears to be a parting line, similar to cast anvils. We really need more pictures to tell what it is.
