tonyw
There is a buffalo forge drill press on a local auction business's website. I would like to get it, but know nothing about these tools. Or if the drill is even in good shape. Mind taking a look at the pictures and telling me what you think? thank you for your time and advice. the iron dwarf
has autofeed, as you turn the handle the drill turns and goes down too, looks like you can change the length of the handle too to change how much power it gets. nice item,
tonyw
thanks. What's a reasonable amount to pay? $100? Not sure what that would be in pounds....

Jim Coke
Greetings Tony, I have several post drills . They are fun to restore and use. It's hard to tell all problems by your pictures but I was able to pick out a few things.. Lower table support missing from the shaft. Crank handle not original but easy to make. Still worth 75 to 100 Have fun Forge on and mak beautiful things Jim
tonyw
Thank-you for that information, Jim. Your shop is beautiful!
kubiack
I would make sure you check the bearings. I don't think the flywheel with the belt groove is original. When these are used with an electric motor they wear out much faster. All of the ones I have scene which were converted to use a motor had worn out quill bearings to be of much use.
