electric forge blower

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I recently purchased a coal forge (newbie blacksmith) I am trying to find information about the electric blower it came with. I would like to replace the somewhat damaged paddle fan, any ideas?

They don't make parts for  these anymore; several of my old ones have had new paddles brazed on; one was riveted on.  You are on your own unless you can find a "donor" and even then transfers can be tragic.

Thanks for the post. Since I am using a newer motor, I thought I might try and find a newer version fan that would fit inside this housing. Have you even heard of this blower? I can't find anything on the net about it.

Might check out your local scrap yard, I picked up 2 electric blowers the other day at the scrap yard for maybe $4.00 for both. One worked the other didn't. You might find one you can modify to fit your blower.

if you are involved in metal working why not make one, a central boss to fit your motor shaft, a disc with a central hole for the shaft ans smaller holes for screws to hold disc onto the boss then more holes further out for the paddles, either have paddles with a flange and bolt or rivet or cut the paddles with little legs to go through the holes to line them up and weld on the back
