November 24, 200718 yr when all you do just grind you a knife out of stainless steel , do you still have to heat treat and temper and the oil bath too? just a little help please vern(brand new at everything)
November 24, 200718 yr stanless is a whole nuther animal, i'm no expert but that has a whole diffrent way of h/t it maybe ask rich hale about that,
November 24, 200718 yr Yes it still needs to go through the heat treat process but it is not the same as simple carbon steel it should be heated in a heat treat furnace with controled temps. Do you know what type of steel it is? Every type has a different recipe for proper heat treat. Bob
