ThomasPowers
Any issues with heat transfer?
jeremy k
No Thomas, That was my first concern - the fireplace unit is a gas unit. It was on the whole time I installed the panels and I could put the back of my hand on any of the panels I put on when I was done.
ThomasPowers
Gas fireplaces are much less prone to such issues. Fellow I worked with needed to armor a wall near a wood stove so I told him where an abandoned pile of old roofing slates was and he slated the walls. Looked good and made a very cosy nook to come in out of the cold and stand between the warm slate and hot stove.
kubiack
That looks very nice Jeremy. I always enjoy seeing your work. How did you finish the metal panels?
petere76
Nice work, modern, modular industrial look. If you were looking to deflect real hear as opposed to the gas fire, you would have direct contact heat transfer issues. Peter
jeremy k
Wax finish on the panels, Petere76 - all depends on design I'm sure
VaughnT
Very nice work. I like how each sheet seems to have its own look, but they all come together to create a unified appearance.
