First ever project

My mom had a dinner bell without a striker. So I made her a Christmas gift. I think I'll try to make a drive hook to go with it. Thoughts & comments ??

What I can see looks good. In reality, no Mom in the history of Moms has ever not LOVED anything one of their kids made them, especially Christmas or Birthday gifts. That's going to put a big smile on her face.

For a first try, that looks like a seriously cool leaf. Your Mum will be thrilled. Go forge the drive hook now (and let's see a picture!)

Well I decided to go with "standard" hook. Thought it would be easier for her to install. Anyway here it is. First hook, first twist thought it came out pretty good.

Nice hook. The triangle isn't going to ring hung like that though. You need to hang it with a leather or twine thong or the steel hook will damp the resonance that is the ringing sound. Also the two legs that don't touch should be different lengths. I don't know why but just

a little difference makes the triangle sound better.

Triangles are excellent beginner projects and wives love the things.

Nice work! If you have patience you can accomplish anything!

I think you are going to need to stand that triangle off a bit with something more than just a hook.
