I just got a Hay Budden with some numbers that I could use some help with.  Under the name is the numbers 312.  Under the horn I found  A31238.  Does someone know what these numbers stand for?  Thanks in Advance.

    A31238 is the serial number it can tell you the manufacte date.  The 312 may be a weight.

    312 *should* be the weight and as an American anvil it's NOT in CWT; so 312 pounds.
