lloe01
My metalsmith forge has two burners. It has worked great for a year. Today, I could only get one burner to work. I think the burner jet is clogged. They use a pipe with a tiny hole in it. Does anyone know what size this tiny hole is or should be? Thanks Larry
ThomasPowers
What did they say when you called them and spoke about the problem?
lloe01
They have a FAQ that says they don't have a lot of time to answer the phone. But, I emailed them and am waiting to see if they answer it. I do like this forge. Thanks
ThomasPowers
Most likely there is a bit of spiderweb or pipe dope clogging the orifice. Do you have an O-A torch tip cleaner?
tzonoqua
try to blow out the pipe with some compressed air, worked for me. :) unscrew one end of the pipe and blow through that.
John McPherson
Wasps and spiders will occupy, nest or put a egg sack in any small opening. Birds will build nests in the forge body in a day. Wrapping the whole thing in a trash bag is the only way to store it in a shed. If compressed air does not clear it, dis-assembly and small wires/toothpicks/tube brushes are in order. The mud from potter wasps is especially hard to remove, their saliva hardens it like cement. A soak in hot, soapy water helps.
lloe01
I will try the torch tip cleaner first. Thanks, everyone, for the tips. Larry
lloe01
Looks like the air worked. I had 125lbs of air pressure behind it. My forge Works again! Thanks, folks.
