saskuatch83
Hello all I bought a new to me pw 103lb(0-3-19), and was looking at the stamp. It looks really bad like it was done too cold or not hard enough. I'm posting because most of the pw anvils have a nice clear stamp, just find it kind of weird. Thought I would share! Crap I'm on my I phone and can't figure out how to attach pic. I will ad when I get to my pc sorry.
saskuatch83
Sorry about that here it is.
Black Frog
There have been several PW's listed here that don't show the name stamping very well, but are identifiable. Yours is a later one that has the "England" stamp on it, most likely made after 1911 or so.
Everything Mac
The "wright" looks a bit funny to me. Like its in bold or something. Does it definitely say Peter above it? Not a Henry wright? I'm just guessing, don't quote me. All the best Andy
Black Frog
Or the WRIGHT is double-stamped. Maybe hit twice without it being lined up perfectly on the first impression?
saskuatch83
Yes it looks to be double stamped it kind of looks 3d haha. It does Definatly say Peter its easier to see in person. Also I am thinking it might have the solid wrought iron stamp on it under ENGLAND. But it's just not clear enough.
saskuatch83
Anyone have any input? If you look under the A in ENGLAND.
basher
I have had quite a few Peter wrights and only one that was heavily stamped where I was able to read all the writing.
