August 13, 201312 yr Plan to look into the Alex Bealer Blacksmith Association at www.alexbealer.org. They meet the third Saturday of each month in shops around the Atlanta Area. You will meet many blacksmiths, see a good demonstration and probably get lunch.
August 13, 201312 yr Alex Bealer group is meeting this Saturday in the a.m. at Mountain Park in Alpharetta. Open forge. I was invited to come play at somebody else's forge about 5 minutes into my first meeting. Very likely to meet someone near you, if not in Carollton.
August 13, 201312 yr Choo Choo Forge in Chattanooga meets every Thursday and our monthly meeting is the first Thursday of each month. Don't know how close you are but, we'd be happy to have you.

August 13, 201312 yr Alex Bealer is a great group! I started my forging off there. I miss the going to the meeting but I seem to always have work when they come up. I am out in Louisville Ga. A bit of a ways off but I am happy to open my shop up to people wanting to learn.
