Pulsepushthepopulace
That would be an Arm & Hammer anvil, considered a premier quality American manufactured product... Tool steel plate forge welded onto a wrought iron body...
Small pein
Just got my first anvil today. It is a arm an hammer, no. 7 on horn end, no. 61 on square end, weight about 57.7 pounds. Does that sound about rite?
ThomasPowers
Another "tell" is that A&H anvils usually have the original steam hammer marks on the bottom side of the heel, they were not dressed after the original forging. In general anvil weights can differ by several pounds from their stamped weights due to wear over the years or suspect weighing apparatus. (either now or then!)
