plane_crazzy Posted January 7, 2013 Share Posted January 7, 2013 I was at an auction yesterday and decided to bid on a 3 jaw lathe chuck that is about 10" diameter and a compound tool rest. Looking on the internet has done little in my effort to figure out a fair price to resell for. There are some on ebay but if people were buying at those prices they wouldn't still be on ebay... I have bought several at auctions for $25 ea from 8" to 16" 3, and 4 jaw all good brands like Cushman, Skinner, Buck, etc. How loose the is chuck ?, are the jaws still good?, etc all affect the value. New chucks are expensive, but there are literally tons of them on the secondary market. A local buyer will be better due to shipping costs.
