clinton
Going upstate to spend a couple of days with Fewood at his shop, which is in my home town (well close enough) We will be forging for 2 days and working on way more projects than the time allows. We will have fun and share ideas and knowledge; what more could you ask for? Dog does not think too much about getting left behind
archiphile
I am sure y'all 'll have a good time, sans the dog. Also love the microdot bus!

ianinsa
Magic looking anvil, what's the sugar for? don't you think Fe-wood is sweet enough Have a good trip. Ian
fciron
Gonna be a heck off a road trip if all you eat is pure cane sugar and snack mix. Have fun. My parent's dragged us and the dog all the way across country in the same blue and white bus (but the pop-top camper set-up) in 1978. Aaah, memories. :P
clinton
The sugar is for the bees, snack mix and beer is for me The anvil is a Tom Clark Ozark Pattern- yes magic
ianinsa
Clinton, I realise the box may have said B/Feeder they meant bird feeder so you are supposed to fill it with seed not sugar Have a good trip! Ian
mike-hr
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Fe at the last hammer-in, heckofa nice guy. I'm a bit concerned about big steel lumps in the van, just one 18-car pile-up on the eyefive, and you bought into a world class headache. Might be a good idea to drag a week old dead sheep behind you to ward off the tailgaters...enjoy yourself

We made a few bottle openers and a Brazeal style pair of tongs each. the tongs are for holding hammers during forging Fewood's tongs my tongs scale drawing Forging station
ironstein
Looks like a good time! Fe sure has a nice set up, and looks to be a beautiful setting for a shop. I am jealous, all that space, looks like no neighbors nearby, i can only dream! Good looking tongs guys.
clinton
Ya it is a beautiful place, I grew up there and I do miss it. And yes we did have a good time, even managed to get thrown out of my dad's house (that was cool, thanks to Fe talking politics) oh the bourbon probably was a factor as well. And we were both happy with our tongs, thanks for the vote of approval ironstein
Fe-Wood
Yup- Definitely a good time! Made some nice bottle openers too. Clinton is a great teacher... As with this site, talking politics is not allowed.... I should have listened  We also started a jig for punching holes on my press. First 2 holes went great last one got way stuck. It is one with the work piece. I'm always happy to have visitors.... Thanks for coming up and giving me the horse head bottle opener demo Clinton! Fe-Wood
Looks like fun was had by most!(dad excluded) Nice looking place Fe. Ian Thanks Ian- Oh I think Clinton's dad had more fun that he will ever admit.... Not to often you get to toss someone out of your house after feeding them a great dinner... And thanks to all of you for the complements on the shop and tongs. Its getting to be a nice set up. lots of room to grow, make noise and cause general mischief. clinton
Ya I think my dad just had to show us he still has what it takes, we both had a good laugh afterwards. Here are the bottle openers that I made And thanks Fe-wood for the hospitality and for the thumbs up on my "teaching" I have a long way to go but this is a step forward
